The UK's 2nd largest city, Birmingham is one of its top cultural centres. Well-known for the M6 Spaghetti Junction interchange, it is a surprisingly green city with lots of open spaces.
Most city centre hotels in Birmingham are near New Street Station. To the east is the futuristic architecture of the new Bull Ring shopping centre, and just behind is Digbeth Coach Station. To the west is Victoria Square, home of the town hall and a German Christmas Market.
The Mailbox is one of the newest additions to the Birmingham shopping scene, and behind it is one of the canals converging on the Gas Street Basin. By one canal are the ICC (International Convention Centre) and the NIA (National Indoor Arena), both venues that host major events.
Just opposite is Brindleyplace, a canal-front complex of restaurants, bars and hotels near Broad Street – the main nightlife area. It is popular with students at nearby Birmingham University, whose clock tower is modelled on the one in Siena. Just south in Bournville is Cadbury World, and there are several hotels on Hagley Road to the north, which are available on Booking.com.
The city is also known for sports – Aston Villa and Birmingham City are the top football clubs, while Edgbaston Cricket Ground hosts international matches. Other Birmingham attractions include Hockley’s Jewellery Quarter and the NEC arena by Birmingham International Airport.

LOVELY BUILDINGS BOTH OLD AND MODERN, GOOD CHOICE OF RESTAURANTS AND BARS!
EASY TO WALK AROUND TO GET TO SHOPS ETC
THE ONLY THING THAT WAS DISTRESSING WAS THE AMOUNT OF PEOPLE ASKING FOR MONEY AND SLEEPING IN DOORWAYS! :{

We went to Birmingham to see Michael McIntyre at The Utilita Arena .We stayed overnight but would have liked an extra night .We visited The Kitty Cafe which was lovely ,there is an £8 charge per adult and a lesser charge for children to spend one hour in the cafe ,but this money goes towards the cats ,who are rescue cats looking for a new home .We loved the canal area ,which was popular with loads of pubs and restaurants. We had lovely Tapas in the Bullring at lunchtime .We eat at Bistro Pierre by the canal in the evening which was enjoyable .

Fair walk from Hotel to Arena and a bit confusing but it was a nice day luckily and happy lots of other people around late at night and canals lit up so felt safer. Lots of beggers unfortunately that made it a not so pleasant walk.

People are so friendly and the busy centre is vibrant and varied. The canals make a lovely walking route through the centre making everything easily accessible. We ate at Jimmy Spice, an all you can eat buffet, but the food was of much higher quality than I have experienced at other similar restaurants. We both had a great time!
Everything about the stay was great, apartment was lovely and clean and in a really good location.
I canceled a room at a local hotel to stay as it seemed much better value for less money and was not disappointed!
I had read some comments about the property being hard to find , so was quite surprised by how easy it was - upon booking i was sent a pdf containing all relevant information including pictures, this was really helpful and we found the apartment in no time.
The location is less than 100 yards from Birmingham New Street train station which made arriving and departing very convenient. Central location also meant great public transport links / easy taxi access. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Property was spotless. Room a fair size and adequately appointed. Bed was comfy. Shower excellent. Breakfast was superb. The price I paid was half of what I would expect to pay for a similar room in city centre hotel.
Probably a parking garage rebuilt into Ibis branded budget hotel. Don’t expect more than basic room with bed, shower and private toilet. If your budget allows to spend a bit more then other affordable hotel chains offer more comfortable, better looking rooms and facilities. Hotel is located 15 minutes walk away from Birmingham New Street station. Again, other affordable hotel chains offer similar if not better locations that are closer to city centre.
Superb location for exploring Birmingham and great views from the hotel bedroom and the terrace bar.
Really comfortable bed and great shower. Complimentary water and in room fridge was great to chill drinks. Room had all the little extras you'd want.
Staff provided us with a fan upon request to deal with the heat in the room and also provided compensation for the excessive heat
The breakfast was very good. The location was excellent, 10mins drive to sea life and Lego discovery, 9minutes drive to the city centre and 10minutes drive to Birmingham wildlife conservation park. 16 minutes drive to Cadbury world.
The hotel doesn’t have a car park but there was a car park right behind it which was £6 per day. The room and the hotel was very clean
The staff are lovely! We were greeted by Sean on check-in and he was friendly and very accommodating about keeping our party together, even though it hadn't occurred to me to ask. Throughout our stay, the staff were friendly, attentive and helpful.
The hotel is just a ten minute walk from New St station and very close to everything Birmingham city centre has to offer.
Excellent location, right in the heart of the city centre, clean and comfortable accommodation. The room was a decent size for 3 adults. It would've been good to have a little table and seat for getting ready to go out, but this in no way detracted from our stay. Would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone and will book again for my next Birmingham trip.
This was by far the cheapest and easily the best hotel we've stayed at during our 9 day trip through the Midlands. Room and bathroom were big, clean and comfy, breakfast was amazing with lots of vegan options (and very well labelled) and the city center is only a 10 minute walk away. Would definitely stay here again!
The staff were very friendly, breakfast was beautiful and the location suited our needs being perfectly situated near a major trainline for Birmingham city centre and NEC/Airport. Plenty of local free parking available without evening looking into how the hotel, pub carpark worked and priced to suit the accomodation.
The property was cheap and in a location close to the o2 institute, we could get a bus right outside the hotel into centre and also after the institute also a bus right outside back to hotel so saved a lot on taxis and also time as bus was every 7 mins!!!! Amazing
Free car parking a plus
Staff were friendly
This hotel is excellent overall.
Our room had a great view of Birmingham, a nice shower room, spacious living room and a kitchenette. Especially the kitchenette is incredibly useful to stay since restaurants are way expensive and not as good as their prices in the UK.
The hotel was a short bus trip from Birmingham City Centre. The facade and interior of the hall were lovely, we stayed in an area just outside the hall. We spoke to two members of staff throughout our stay for check in/ check out and they were both very helpful.
Birmingham didn’t have trash pickup so bags of trash lined the streets, not the properties fault. Only steps up, narrow stairs up 3 flights. Room was updated and clean. Opened window was fine but when closed room was stuffy.
Arriving from London to Birmingham Moore street the location of the hotel is great only 3 minutes away from the station and 5-7 minutes from city centre shopping and restaurants. Hôtel réception staff was Pleasante
Second visit of the year great host lovely locals who frequent the facility we enjoyed Birmingham in the summer staying at the Aston inn spent our days in the city and evening in the hotel Bar
One of my best hotels in Birmingham when I travel for work. Always stay here and have stayed for 3 times already now. Food, Location, Price, and Comfort- all top notch.
great location in the jewellery quarter of Birmingham. Didn’t feel like a city centre hotel at all. lots of nice little touches too inc a hot water bottle !!
